Delivery Boy trailer: Leo Sivakumar meets a gang of seven
One routine drop-off puts a rider in the path of seven men who grew up committing crimes together, and the mother at home is Radhika Sarathkumar. Out Oct 23.
The Delivery Boy trailer opens on a mother teasing her son and ends somewhere much darker. Silambarasan TR, in the middle of Vetrimaaran’s Arasan, released it today, and it sets up Leo Sivakumar as an ordinary delivery rider whose single wrong doorstep puts him in the path of seven men who grew up together and graduated into crime. The film opens in theatres on October 23.
Radhika Sarathkumar, months after carrying Thaai Kizhavi, plays his mother, and the trailer leans on her early: the warm banter, the voiceover, the sense of a small household that the rest of the film will threaten. She raises him alone in the story, which is also why Leo’s father, the pattimandram speaker and actor Dindigul I. Leoni, has no part in this home production. Casting him as the dad would have broken the single-mother arc the screenplay is built on.

The back half of the trailer belongs to the gang, with Kali Venkat’s voice carrying its most intense stretch. Brigida Saga plays the female lead, and Bose Venkat, Jensen Divakar, Dushyanth and Udhaya Deep fill out the cast, with Jensen handling much of the comedy. The fights, choreographed by Phoenix Prabhu, are pitched at a man grabbing whatever is nearby to survive rather than a hero sending goons into the air.
It is the debut of writer-director Nani, a longtime assistant and associate director, and is produced by Leo’s mother Amutha Leoni under Asasi Creations, with Lenin Madeswaran of Chaandi Talkies. Sundaramurthy K.S. scores it, Ashokkumar Raj and Prasanna S. Kumar shot it, R. Vasanthakumar edited it, and P. Jai Murugan handled the art direction.
For Leo, the release closes a loop. Audiences met him first in a supporting turn opposite Vijay Sethupathi in Maamanithan, then as the lead of Azhagiya Kanne. But Delivery Boy was the first film he signed as a hero; the production simply took longer to finish. On October 23 the one he started with finally gets its turn.
