Cake-u Walk-u: Fahadh Faasil swaggers into Rajamouli territory
Kaala Bhairava's track puts Fahadh Faasil back in Ranga-from-Aavesham mode, in the Baahubali makers' fantasy entertainer due September 11.
Don’t Trouble the Trouble, the fantasy entertainer that puts Fahadh Faasil at the centre of a Baahubali-sized production house, has opened its album with Cake-u Walk-u, and the music video is out now.
Kaala Bhairava composed the track and appears in the video alongside Fahadh and Ssara. It starts cool and then tips over into full whack once Bhairava’s beats kick in, with the composer’s own dance moves part of the show. Bhairava and Vaasi wrote the lyrics and sing it together, and the words are a character brief: Suri is a daredevil, and every task in front of him is a cakewalk.
Fahadh’s energy in the video has already drawn the obvious and flattering comparison, Ranga chetta from Aavesham, all loose-limbed swagger, chains and an infectious grin. The film introduces his character Suri and what the release cheerfully calls his madness.
The project sits on an unusual amount of pedigree for a debut. Shashank Yeleti directs his first film, SS Rajamouli presents it, and the producing lineup joins Baahubali’s Shobu Yarlagadda and Prasad Devineni of Arka Mediaworks with SS Karthikeya’s Showing Business, the banner that distributed Premalu. Saurabh Sachdeva is also in the cast.
Don’t Trouble the Trouble reaches theatres on September 11. On the evidence of this single, the film intends to earn its title.
