Pari Elavazhagan and Archana Ravichandran front a Chennai dermatology launch

Pari Elavazhagan vouches for his dermatologist, Archana Ravichandran shares chief-guest billing, and Kishen Das talks grooming at a Chennai clinic launch.

Pari Elavazhagan does not usually turn up to cut ribbons, so his presence as chief guest at a Chennai dermatology launch this week came with an explanation. He has been a patient of Bhairavi Senthil for a while. “I have known Dr. B for quite some time and have also been a client,” he said. “I have not come across someone in the field of dermatology as inspiring as her. Her approach, her commitment to her patients and the way she has built Dr. B 360 are genuinely inspiring.” The Jama director shared the chief guest billing with Archana Ravichandran, who won the seventh season of Bigg Boss Tamil, and the two of them anchored a guest list that leaned young and televisual: Kishen Das, Deepshikha Chandran, Angelin, Bhaviyathrika, RaaNav, Ismath Banu and Sumithra.

The occasion was the introduction of what the clinic calls the Baby Skin Hairless Programme, a laser hair-removal course built around the Motus AZ+, a platform made by the Italian company DEKA, whose representative Francisco Baadi was in the room. Senthil, who founded the Dr. B 360 Dermatology Experiential Centre in January 2025 after 15 years in clinical dermatology and training under Zein Obagi among others, made the case that the machine matters less than what is done with it. “Technology is not important by itself; its real value comes when we translate it into the right experience and protocol for a person’s individual needs and skin biology. Our approach has always been to understand the skin first and then choose the appropriate technology, treatment and maintenance pathway.”

Kishen Das, in the middle of a run of leading roles after Aaromaley, supplied the lighter half of the evening with a frank account of his own grooming routine and a stated interest in trying the clinic’s offerings, which is the kind of endorsement these launches are designed to produce. The centre sits inside a wider set-up that includes a medical-grade salon and Senthil’s own skincare line, AAVÉDERM. Hair removal is not a story on its own. A director whose last two films opened on the strength of his own name, standing up to vouch for his dermatologist, is at least a small one.
