Drones trailer pits a witch against an angel
Three people wander into a place called the Black Hole, a cop follows them in, and a witch squares up to an angel. Horror, sci-fi and comedy, all in one.
Three people walk into a mysterious place called the Black Hole. A police officer turns up to investigate it. Somewhere in the middle, a witch and an angel go to war. That is roughly the shape of the Drones trailer, which dropped ahead of the fantasy film’s theatrical release on October 16.
Written and directed by R Raghav Mirdath for GM Morgan Films, Drones stars Siddhi Idnani, Anjali Nair, Devadarshini, Dravid Selvam, Kuraishi, Cinemavala Sathish and Sasi Selvaraj. The trailer throws horror, fantasy and science fiction into the same pot and then lets the comedy run through all of it, which is a lot of genre for one film to carry. The premise, according to the makers, is simple enough: what happens when the kind of strange things that only happen in dreams start happening in the real world?
Alongside the trailer, the team put out a release-date poster that leans fully into the witch-versus-angel idea. One woman in a red sari, styled like a sorceress, faces off against another in a flowing white gown, with crackling rings of magic between them in a stone hall. The earlier first-look posters had already split the film’s personality in two.

Jayanth Sethu Madhavan handles the camera, Hari SR composes the music and Sathish Surya edits. The songs Terror Error and Asku Macha are already out.
The makers are pitching Drones as a family outing that works for children as much as adults, and the date is chosen to match: it lands on October 16, right before the Ayudha Pooja holidays.
