I Am Game: Dulquer Salmaan's 40th film locks August 2026 as Wayfarer's follow-up to Lokah
Wayfarer's Lokah follow-up backs Mysskin, Kathir and Anbariv stunts as Nahas Hidayath of RDX puts Dulquer in a stylish mass-action register.
Dulquer Salmaan’s 40th film, I Am Game, has been confirmed for an August 2026 worldwide theatrical release. Directed by Nahas Hidayath, the action thriller is now in its closing stretch of post-production after a shoot that crossed 100 locations across South India.
The framing is being set by the actor himself. Dulquer says I Am Game is the most stylish film of his career so far, and that director Nahas Hidayath built the part and the world of the film around a deliberate stylistic break from his recent run. “Most of my recent films have featured me in vintage-style looks,” the actor said in his note on the project, “whereas I Am Game will showcase a completely different and refreshing transformation.” The character is being pitched as a stylish mass-action lead, with Anbariv handling the action choreography and Jakes Bejoy on score.
The film is the next production from Wayfarer Films, the banner Dulquer co-runs with Jom Varghese, and arrives on the back of Lokah Chapter 1: Chandra, the Kalyani Priyadarshan-led superhero film that sat at the centre of a planned five-part franchise the producer has been openly mapping out. For Nahas Hidayath, this is the directorial follow-up to RDX, the 2023 film that did much of the heavy lifting in getting Malayalam action cinema taken seriously again at the box office.
The screenplay is by Shahabas Rasheed and Adarsh Sukumaran. The ensemble around Dulquer leans cross-language and reads like a deliberate pan-Indian ticket: Antony Varghese, Mysskin, Kayadu Lohar, Kathir, Parth Tiwari and Samyuktha Viswanathan. Mysskin and Kathir alone give the Tamil release a direct draw the dub will not have to manufacture.
I Am Game opens in August 2026 in Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Hindi and Kannada.
