Trisha lined up to join Rajini and Kamal in Nelson's KHxRK

Trisha Krishnan is being lined up for a key role in Nelson Dilipkumar’s Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan multi-starrer, the project being referred to internally as KHxRK. The pairing would be the first time Rajini and Kamal share top billing in over four decades. The announcement promo released a few months ago, with the two stars in retro frames and the line “Who is the hero?” hanging over them, has stayed in circulation since.

Trade reports filed on Tuesday morning say discussions over Trisha’s casting have moved over the last few days and the contract is now in place. No formal announcement has come from the producers yet. Trisha has worked with Rajini and Kamal separately across her two-decade run, but has never shared the frame with them together; this would be the first. The reports do not specify whether she pairs opposite one of the leads or carries an independent track.

Music for the film is by Anirudh Ravichander, cinematography by Rajiv Menon, and production sits with Red Giant Movies, the Udhayanidhi Stalin-led banner behind Vettaiyan and Lal Salaam in recent years. A shoot-start window has not been formally announced. With Trisha already in the release week for Karuppu, KHxRK would slot in as her next anchor project once she is through the May 14 opening.
