The trailer for the upcoming film Konja Naal Poru Thalaiva was launched recently at an event attended by the cast, crew, and other industry figures. The film marks the directorial debut of Vignesh Pandian and is produced by S. Murugan under the banner of Aarudhran Pictures, a company branching into cinema from a background in real estate.
Vignesh, who previously assisted directors Sakthi Chidambaram and Ramesh Selvan, expressed his gratitude towards the producer. “My thanks go to producer Murugan sir for completely believing in me and giving me this opportunity,” Vignesh stated at the launch. He highlighted the trust placed in him, noting, “He never even came to the shooting spot on a single day; he trusted me completely and provided everything I asked for.”
The film, described as a commercial entertainer blending romance and comedy, also incorporates a serious underlying message. According to the press release, the story is built around the theme that “suicide is not a solution to any problem in life.”

Nishanth Rusho, the film’s lead actor, echoed the sentiment of a supportive production. “The producer ensured no one faced any shortcomings and produced this film with great responsibility,” Nishanth said. He also praised the director’s execution, stating, “Director Vignesh has shaped the film wonderfully. All the technicians worked with great dedication.” Nishanth mentioned that this is shaping up to be a significant year for him, with three of his films slated for release.
Aarudhran Pictures’ entry into film production comes after 25 years in the real estate sector via Aarudhran Land Developers. Speaking on behalf of the production house, Kaliyamoorthy remarked, “There’s always a special reception for comedy films. My congratulations to Vignesh for making a fine comedy film that people will like. I’ve seen the film and liked it very much.” He added, “It is the media’s responsibility to make this film a success.”
The positive relationship with the producer was a recurring theme. Cinematographer Jones Anand commented, “I am seeing the producer for only the second time now. Director Vignesh is my friend… he promised he would do a film with me, and he has given me that opportunity here.” Jones added, “The producer hasn’t left any salary pending for anyone. From what I’ve seen, this is a very good production house.” Guest director S. R. Prabhakaran also picked up on this, stating, “Everyone is speaking happily about the producer. For the sake of a first-film producer who provides proper wages to those who work, this film should succeed.”

The film stars Nishanth Rusho and Gayathrishan in the lead roles. The cast also includes Bala Saravanan, Lollu Sabha Maaran, Kumki Ashwin, and Super Good Subramaniam. Mottai Rajendran features in a comedic role described as a ‘lover boy’, while Harshad, noted for his appearance in “Jailer”, plays the antagonist. Singampuli appears in a special role described as pivotal to the plot.
Samanth Nag composed the music for the songs, with lyrics for all tracks penned by Pothuvil Asmin. “I met director Vignesh to write one song for this film,” Asmin shared. “He liked that song and gave me the opportunity to write all the songs.” Samanth Nag acknowledged creative discussions with the director, saying, “Vignesh and I would often argue, but it was all for the good of the film. He has created the film very well.”
The technical team includes editor Vithu Jeeva and choreographer Sabareesh, who worked on two songs. Shahjahan composed the music specifically for the trailer.
