Actor Vijay Sethupathi marked his 50th film with the upcoming release of Maharaja, a project that holds special significance for him and the team involved. At the film’s press conference, Sethupathi expressed his gratitude for the journey that led him to this milestone and emphasized the collaborative effort behind Maharaja.

“I am very happy that Maharaja is my 50th film,” Sethupathi shared. “Vinod, Kalaiyarasan, Abhirami, Mamta, and the entire technical team have done a beautiful job.” He acknowledged the role of directors, the media, and audiences in shaping his career, stating, “If I have reached my 50th film, it is because of everyone’s criticism and praise.”

Actress Mamta Mohandas, who previously worked with Sethupathi in Enemy, praised the film’s unique narrative and the actor’s talent. “After Enemy, I am glad to be back with Maharaja, which has a good story,” she said. “It is not just a film but an experience. I have acted with many senior actors, but Sethu sir is different. He will reach great heights in his career. Nithilan is a talented director. The film will definitely be a hit.”

Director Nithilan Saminathan, known for his work on Kurangu Bommai, echoed Mohandas’s sentiment, describing Maharaja as more than just a film. “It is an experience,” he affirmed. He expressed his gratitude to the cast and crew, stating, “All my technicians are talented. Without them, this film would not have happened. Vijay Sethupathi sir is a person of character. Thanks to Sudhan sir for supporting us without worrying about the cost. Vijay Sethupathi, Abhirami, and Mamta have all performed well.”

Actor Vinod, who plays a pivotal role in Maharaja, shared his insights into the film’s themes. “Maharaja is the story of someone who is looking to retire,” he revealed. “This is my third film with Sethu Anna. His growth has come gradually through hard work. His dynamism can inspire us all. I learned a lot from Anurag Kashyap. I am glad to have worked with Abhirami and Mamta. Thanks to producer Sudhan sir and director Nithilan.”

Maharaja, jointly produced by Passion Studios and The Route, is set to release worldwide on June 14th.
