Sri Thenandal Films’ 101st production, Mr. Housekeeping, marks another milestone in bringing digital creators to mainstream cinema, featuring YouTube personality Hari Baskar and Bigg Boss contestants Losliya and Rayan in lead roles. The film, directed by Arun Ravichandran, is set to release worldwide on January 24.

“While making the film, we focused on aligning it with current trends while ensuring it remains family-friendly,” said N. Ramasamy (Thenandal Murali), head of Sri Thenandal Films. “I’ve learned from my father that young talent, when given an opportunity, will always strive to excel.”

Director Arun Ravichandran, who previously worked as an assistant to veteran filmmaker Vasu, recalled his journey: “When I first narrated this story to Murali sir, he remained silent initially. But within five minutes, he agreed to produce the film. This opportunity came through Vasu sir’s co-director Sukumar, who introduced me to the industry.”

Veteran actor Ilavarasu praised the production house’s legacy and the new talent. “For a production company to cross 100 films is no small feat. Hari Baskar reminds me of actor Vimal in Kalavani – he displayed natural acting abilities from day one,” he said.

The film features six songs composed by newcomer Osho Venkat. “At a time when films are releasing without songs, I’m grateful for this opportunity,” said Venkat. “It was our dream to work together on a film, and it has been fulfilled through this project.”

Director Vasu, who attended the press meet, noted the significance of producing a film under Sri Thenandal Films: “When Arun told me he was making a film with Thenandal Films, I knew it was a significant achievement. Their legacy, established by Rama Narayanan, has been instrumental in launching many careers in the industry.”
