The music and trailer launch for the upcoming film Guts was held in Chennai, marking a significant milestone for Rangaraj, who makes his debut not only as the lead actor but also as the director and producer of the action entertainer. The event celebrated the culmination of what Rangaraj described as a 25-year journey towards entering the film industry.
“I have been struggling for 25 years to become an actor in cinema,” Rangaraj shared during the event. He spoke about facing numerous obstacles along the way and the determination required to finally bring his vision to life through his production company, OBR B Productions. He mentioned starting the project with limited knowledge of production intricacies but persevered with the support of family and friends. “Having started, I couldn’t step back, so I kept fighting,” he stated, acknowledging his roots as the “son of a mother who sold idlis in a remote village.”
Speakers at the event lauded Rangaraj’s commitment. Director Shivani Senthil, a friend of Rangaraj, praised his passion: “He is someone with an immense love for cinema… Cinema involves effort and struggle, different for everyone. What stops many is fear… but if you believe ‘I can do it,’ you can make a film.”

Actress Sreelekha, who plays Rangaraj’s mother in the film, commended his talent despite being a newcomer. “He faced a lot of challenges,” she noted, adding that the film’s title, Guts, aptly suited him. “I believe you will support him. I wish him success.” Lead actress Sruthi Narayanan thanked Rangaraj for the opportunity and for guiding her performance on set.
Rangaraj’s multifaceted role extended to writing lyrics for the film’s three songs, composed by Jos Franklin. “Director Rangaraj is a hard worker with immense dedication,” remarked Jos Franklin. “Working with him was an unforgettable experience.”
Industry figures like Jaguar Thangam and Film Guild Secretary Duraisamy also offered encouragement. Jaguar Thangam commented on the trailer, “It looks excellent. The newcomer hero has performed well; he looks like a great action hero on screen.” Duraisamy expressed his best wishes for the film’s success.
Guts, also starring Delhi Ganesh and Sai Dheena, with cinematography by Manoj and produced by Jayabharathi Rangaraj, is expected to release soon. The launch event highlighted the dedicated effort behind bringing this independent film to fruition.
