Sam C.S. wins Best Soundtrack for Suzhal 2
Suzhal season 2 swept three at the NEXA Streaming Academy Awards, with Aishwarya Rajesh and the series itself joining the composer on the winners' list.
Sam C.S. has another award for the shelf. At the NEXA Indian Streaming Academy Awards, which recognise the country’s leading OTT work, the composer won Best Original Soundtrack (Regional) for Suzhal 2, a fresh national-level nod for a music language that has become his signature.
He was not the only one from the show to walk away a winner. Suzhal season 2 took three of the night’s honours: Best Series (Regional) for the show itself, Best Original Soundtrack (Regional) for Sam C.S., and Best Actor in a Series (Female), Critics, Regional, for Aishwarya Rajesh. Between them, the three wins were a clean confirmation of how far the season landed.

Background score has always been where Sam C.S. draws his own line. The ability to carry the tension, feeling, mystery, ache or lift of a scene through music alone is what sets him apart among his contemporaries, and in thriller, suspense and investigation stories his score often turns into a character in its own right rather than a backdrop to one.
Suzhal 2 gave him exactly that canvas. Threading together the rural setting, the mystery, the family ties and the criminal investigation, his music did heavy lifting in the season’s pull, with a design tuned scene by scene that kept viewers inside the story. This award reads as the recognition of that work.

Film or web series, his stated method is the same: give the story the music it needs. That balance, commercial sound on one side and textured background score on the other, is a large part of why he has become one of the composers directors keep coming back to.
He is busy to match. Sam C.S. is currently working across Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Hindi, with a Tamil slate that includes Karate Babu, Sardar 2, a new film from Pushkar and Gayathri, an H. Vinoth and Dhanush collaboration, and Demonte Colony 3. On top of that, Ram Pothineni’s directorial debut has landed in his hands, a project that has drawn extra attention his way.

National recognitions, work that crosses languages, scores that try something different: Sam C.S. keeps stacking all three, and the Suzhal 2 award is one more proud chapter in a run that shows no sign of slowing.
