Sambarala Yeti Gattu wraps, claims the Sankranthi 2027 slot

Sambarala Yeti Gattu has finished shooting, and the makers marked the wrap by planting a flag on the most contested real estate in Telugu cinema: January 12, 2027, the Sankranthi window. Sai Durgha Tej’s period actioner, mounted by Primeshow Entertainment, now has five months of post-production between itself and a festival release date that big films usually brawl over.

The wrap poster stays in the key the film has been marketing itself in since the Asura Aagamana glimpse. Sai Durgha Tej, bloodied and wild-haired, runs straight at the camera with a bare blade in hand while oil derricks burn behind him, flames licking at the ground he is covering. It is the sort of frame that promises the film’s money has gone where the audience can see it: the shoot ran across multiple locations on elaborate sets, with the action designed by a four-man bench of Peter Hein, Ram Lakshman, Chethan and Prudhvi.

Debutant Rohith KP writes and directs, with K Niranjan Reddy and Chaitanya Reddy producing. The casting carries one deliberate tease: a top Bollywood actor plays a crucial role, and the makers are refusing to say who, a withheld card they will presumably play closer to the date. Around the mystery man stand Aishwarya Lekshmi, Jagapathi Babu, Sai Kumar, Srikanth and Ananya Nagalla.

The technical crew leans south for its firepower. Vetri Palanisamy handles cinematography, B Ajaneesh Loknath of Kantara composes, Nawin Vijay Krishna edits and Gandhi Nadikudikar builds the production design. The shoot’s end moves all of that into the finishing room, and the target is fixed: screens on January 12, 2027, when the Sankranthi crowd is at its largest and least forgiving.
