The audio launch of Silent, a thriller directed by debutant Ganesha Pandi and produced by SR Dream Studios, showcases an unconventional approach to storytelling in Tamil cinema. The film features Pandi himself in a dual role as Bhuvaneswaran, portraying both male and female personas.

“This film will clarify many misconceptions about transgender individuals,” said lead actor Murali Radhakrishnan at the launch event. “It’s a celebration of transgender life, not just another narrative.”

The story revolves around a character who confesses to murdering their mother, with the plot exploring the complexities of gender identity through a crime thriller format. T. Samaya Murali, an IRS and GST Additional Joint Commissioner, brings an unusual combination of talents to the project as both screenplay writer and music composer.

“Reviews are crucial for film visibility today,” noted producer Suresh Kamatchi, who has seen the film. “When a first show doesn’t draw crowds, the next show runs empty. The industry needs to have a proper discussion about how we handle film criticism.”

Director Seenu Ramasamy praised the film’s bold approach: “Few directors would dare to make their debut film centered around transgender themes. The execution is remarkable, especially considering the budget constraints.”

The film, set for release on December 29 through SPR Films, features Aaradhya, Aram Rams, Bigg Boss Namitha, and Marimuthu in supporting roles.
