Chennai witnessed the audio and trailer launch of Veera Dheera Sooran Part 2, the latest film starring Vikram, under the direction of S.U. Arun Kumar. The event, held ahead of the film’s scheduled release on March 27th, saw the cast and crew, including actors S.J. Surya, Suraj Venjaramoodu, Dushara Vijayan, and music composer G.V. Prakash Kumar, share insights into the making of the sequel produced by HR Pictures.
The focus of the evening often returned to the collaboration between Vikram and director Arun Kumar, particularly in light of the director’s previous critically acclaimed film, Chithha. Vikram himself expressed the impact Chithha had on him, stating, “After watching ‘Chithha’, I’ve been calling director Arun Kumar only ‘Chithha’. That’s how much that film affected me… After watching it, I decided I had to work with him, and that’s how ‘Veera Dheera Sooran’ happened.”

Vikram also touched upon his desire to explore different kinds of roles, suggesting that Veera Dheera Sooran Part 2 aligns with this ambition. “My fans have been telling me for a long time that they want to see ‘Chiyaan’ Vikram in a different kind of film,” he said. “I was also waiting to do such a film… This is a fantastic film for the fans, but also an emotional one… That’s the kind of film ‘Veera Dheera Sooran’ is – made for the fans.”
Director Arun Kumar acknowledged Vikram’s willingness to trust his vision. “I saw his film ‘Dhool’ in Madurai’s Chintamani theatre. I thank ‘Chiyaan’ Vikram for the opportunity to direct him,” Arun Kumar stated, also noting Vikram’s continued dedication to his craft even after 62 films.

S.J. Surya, who plays a significant role in the film, described it as “wonderful and different,” aligning with Arun Kumar’s distinct filmmaking style. He drew a comparison to international cinema, stating, “This film is a ‘typical’ Arun Kumar film… Arun Kumar is a fan of Martin Scorsese. It’s a Tamil film made in Tamil soil with an English quality. A very wonderful film.”
Music composer G.V. Prakash Kumar, marking his fourth collaboration with Vikram, characterized the film as having a “strong storyline” and revealed a “dark tone,” mentioning that the background score draws inspiration from his work in the critically acclaimed “Asuran.”

With Veera Dheera Sooran Part 2 hitting theaters on March 27, audiences can expect what Suraj Venjaramoodu described as a “theatrical experience movie” where “the story begins from the very first shot.” In his parting advice to moviegoers, Suraj urged: “Come to the theater five minutes early. Don’t miss the first shot!”
