Netflix has picked up the digital streaming rights to Con City, an upcoming Tamil family comedy starring Arjun Das and Anna Ben, well ahead of its theatrical release.
Directed by debutant Harish Durairaj, the film follows a middle-class family drowning in debt. Their lives change when a receipt printer, struck by lightning, starts churning out genuine Rs 500 notes. The windfall doesn’t stay private for long.

Arjun Das built his reputation on dark, intense roles in the Lokesh Kanagaraj universe: Kaithi, Master, Vikram. More recently, he played a dual-role antagonist opposite Ajith Kumar in Good Bad Ugly. A family comedy is new ground for him. Opposite him is Anna Ben, who won two Kerala State Film Awards (for Helen and Kottukkaali) before making her Tamil debut in PS Vinothraj’s Kottukkaali. This is her second Tamil film.
Yogi Babu, veteran actress Vadivukkarasi, and child actor Akilan round out the cast. Sean Roldan handles the music. Shot across Mangalore, Chennai, and Mumbai, Con City releases simultaneously in Tamil and Telugu.
