JioHotstar stacks 115 Mohanlal films into a 10-day birthday festival

JioHotstar's Mohanlal - The Complete Actor festival runs 20 to 30 May, putting 115 films across his four-decade career into one curated streaming window.

JioHotstar has lined up 115 Mohanlal films into a 10-day streaming festival titled “Mohanlal - The Complete Actor”, running from 20 to 30 May around the actor’s birthday week. The catalogue cuts across four decades of his career and is built as a single browsable celebration rather than a passive back-catalogue dump.

The line-up takes in Drishyam, Manichithrathazhu, Vanaprastham, Bharatham, Sanmanassullavarkku Samadhanam, Thudarum, Hridayapoorvam, Pulimurugan, Vandanam, Thoovanathumbikal, Neru, Chenkol, Oppam, Kaalapani, Janatha Garage, Thanmathra, Thenmavin Kombath, Keerthichakra, L2: Empuraan, Run Baby Run, Aye Auto, Chithram, Bro Daddy, Minnaram, His Highness Abdullah, Aaraam Thampuran, Kamaladalam, Kilukkam, Kireedam, Thazhvaram, Barroz, 12th Man and 1971 Beyond Borders among the headliners, with the rest of the 115 shelved alongside.

The platform has split the catalogue into five themed collections (Mohanlal Cult Classics, The Complete Lalettan Swag, Lalettan LOL Universe, Best Mohanlal Thriller Movies and Mohanlal: Heart & Home) so viewers can drop in on a register, mass moments or comedy or thriller or family, rather than scroll through 115 titles cold. Alongside the films, JioHotstar is running a Mohanlal Superfan Contest through the festival window, putting up T-shirts signed by Mohanlal himself for fans who answer questions pulled from his filmography. Participation conditions are on the platform’s own channels.

The festival closes on 30 May.
