Love Bite first promo: Santhanam, zombies, festoons

AGS Entertainment has dropped the first promo of Love Bite, its 29th production starring Santhanam. Titled First Bite, the cut wears the genre on its sleeve: zombies in the background, festoons strung up over a village function, and Santhanam in a white shirt and checkered lungi looking very much like a man who walked into the wrong celebration.

Selvin Raj Xavier, who directed the 2023 horror-comedy Conjuring Kannappan, writes and directs again. The studio is pitching Love Bite as a survival thriller loaded with comedy. Aparna Das of Dada plays the female lead; the supporting bench reads like a comedy-veterans line-up, with Anandaraj, VTV Ganesh, Mottai Rajendran, Redin Kingsley, and Muthukumar of Thaai Kizhavi, joined by Nirosha, Adithya Kathir, Kalki Raja, and Bjorn Surrao.

AGS has been on a tear with this template: recognisable lead, populist genre, tight director. GOAT, Love Today, and Dragon have all been box-office wins on the bounce. Love Bite reads like that confidence applied to Santhanam’s lane, where his earlier outings with Selvin Raj Xavier and AGS were sleepers; this one launches with the studio behind it from frame one.

Foxn scores, S. Yuva shoots, V. Sasikumar designs the art; Archana Kalpathi is the creative producer. The shoot is in its closing stretch. A release window is the next thing AGS will drop.
