Meeladun Nabi, an AI film with no actors, wins in Singapore
Meeladun Nabi, a biopic of the Prophet built entirely with AI and no actors, took Best Documentary at its Singapore premiere. France, the US and Australia are next.
A biopic of the Prophet Muhammad assembled entirely with artificial intelligence, with no actors and no live shoot, has won its first award. Meeladun Nabi, directed by Millat Ahmad, took the Best Documentary Film prize at its premiere in Singapore.
The film was recognised for its social reach and the response it drew from audiences, at a ceremony held by the Tharagai Muthamizh Kazhagam. Accepting the trophy, Millat said the project had already been entered at international festivals in France, the United States and Australia. “This recognition in Singapore, ahead of its international journey, is a tremendous validation of the hard work put into this project,” he said.
What sets the film apart is how it was put together. Every frame was generated with AI rather than shot on a set. “It is an experimental effort. We filmed Meeladun Nabi entirely using AI technology and without any actors,” Millat has said of the method. The narration is carried by three well-known Imams from Chennai, who recount episodes from the Prophet’s life across the film.

Next stop is Malaysia. The film is set to premiere in Kuala Lumpur on June 16, before the run at festivals abroad gets under way.
