Director Vishnu Varadhan, known for his collaborations with stars like Ajith Kumar and Pawan Kalyan, is making his return to Tamil cinema with Nesippaya, a romantic adventure featuring newcomer Akash Murali and Aditi Shankar in lead roles. The film’s first look launch event gained unexpected star power with the surprise appearance of actress Nayanthara.

Varadhan, who recently directed the acclaimed Hindi film Shershaah, explained his decision to work with a debut actor: “I see a star in Akash. He has natural talent and has prepared diligently to enhance his acting skills. The audience will understand my choice when they see his performance on screen.”

The director described Nesippaya as “a beautiful adventurous love story, infused with moments that will appeal to everyone in love, who has been in love, and who is going to fall in love.”

Producer Xavier Britto of XB Film Creators expressed confidence in the project, stating, “Vishnu Varadhan is known for bringing out the best in his actors. We believe this will be an excellent launch for Akash Murali.” Britto added that the film has completed shooting and is currently in post-production, with a release planned for the coming months.

The event took an unexpected turn when Nayanthara, known for her reluctance to attend public events, graced the occasion. Dressed elegantly in a dark blue saree, she explained her rare appearance: “I usually don’t attend events. But this is truly special because it is my director Vishnu’s film and my best friend Anu’s film, so this is almost like a family event for me. There is no way I would have said no to this.”

Nayanthara, who worked with Varadhan in the 2013 film Arrambam, praised his abilities: “Vishnu is an amazing filmmaker and such an amazing human being. I have known him for more than 10-15 years.” She also expressed support for Akash Murali’s debut, saying, “I am really happy you are introducing Akash. Because you would have given him the best.”
