Raawadi sets December 24 release with Gujilimasthu

Raawadi has set its worldwide theatrical release for December 24, 2026, putting Basil Joseph and LK Akshay Kumar’s comedy on the Christmas Eve calendar. The team announced the date with a new poster and a promotional video titled Gujilimasthu. Directed by newcomer Vignesh Vadivel, the film has been made in Tamil and Malayalam.

The promo opens in party mode before moving through romance, college life, fights and celebrations to Araajagam Pathala Pathala. The makers are pitching the film as a youthful comedy entertainer, with Basil and Akshay appearing in contrasting looks across the video. The poster carries that unruly mood too, assembling its characters around cricket stumps, raised fists and a campus backdrop.

For Basil, Raawadi follows his appearance in Parasakthi earlier this year. Akshay comes to it after Sirai, which completed 75 days in theatres and paired him with Vikram Prabhu.

John Vijay, Sathyan, Jaffer Sadiq, Noble K. James, Arunachaleswaran PA, Shariq Hassan and Aishwarya Sharma are also in the cast. Jen Martin composes the music, Leon Britto handles cinematography, Barath Vikraman edits, and P. S. Hariharan is the art director.

S. S. Lalit Kumar produces Raawadi through Seven Screen Studio, with L. K. Vishnu Kumar as co-producer. Most of the film was shot in Chennai and Hogenakkal. Filming is complete, and the team is now working on post-production ahead of the December opening.
