Trisha at Tirupati on 43rd Birthday, Karuppu Ten Days Out

Trisha began her 43rd birthday at Sri Venkateswara Swamy Temple in Tirupati on Monday, ten days before Karuppu opposite Suriya hits theatres on May 14.

Trisha began her 43rd birthday with a low-key Tirumala visit, ten days before Karuppu opens opposite Suriya.

Trisha Krishnan turned 43 on Monday and started the day at the Sri Venkateswara Swamy Temple in Tirupati, arriving early in the morning to offer prayers. She came out and briefly greeted the cameras outside the temple, the visuals circulating widely by mid-morning. The look was deliberately plain, which is how she has framed almost every public appearance in the run-up to her next release.

That release is now ten days away. Karuppu, directed by RJ Balaji, opens on May 14 with Suriya in the lead and Trisha playing a lawyer in the rural action drama. It is her first film opposite Suriya since Aaru in 2005, and the supporting cast includes Yogi Babu, Indrans, Sshivada, Swasika, Natty, Supreeth Reddy, and Anagha Maya Ravi, with Balaji himself in a cameo. The Madurai audio reveal a week ago drew a temple-festival sized crowd, but Trisha herself was absent from that stage, a no-show that briefly became its own news cycle.

The Tirupati visit also lands on a politically loaded morning. Tamil Nadu’s assembly election results are being counted today, and Vijay’s TVK, contesting all 234 seats with Vijay himself standing from Perambur and Tiruchirappalli East, is among the parties watching the count closely. Trisha and Vijay co-star in GOAT and have appeared together at recent events, and the surrounding social-media speculation has run alongside the drawn-out Vijay-Sangeetha divorce proceedings without either actor commenting. None of that was on the temple steps on Monday, but it is the backdrop the day’s images are landing into.

Trisha was last seen on screen in Mani Ratnam’s Thug Life opposite Kamal Haasan in 2025. Karuppu is the next test of whether a measured, low-frequency release calendar still translates to opening-week numbers.
