Atlee and Priya name their daughter Miyou

Filmmaker Atlee and Priya have named their newborn daughter Miyou, revealed in a soft pastel Instagram post nearly four weeks after her April 20 arrival.

Filmmaker Atlee and his wife Priya have named their newborn daughter Miyou. The reveal landed on Sunday in a soft pastel Instagram post, fronted by the baby’s tiny hand and the line, “A tiny person with the biggest place in our hearts.” It arrives just under four weeks after the couple’s elder son Meer announced his baby sister’s arrival on April 20.

The Sunday post from the family, signed “with luv, MEER, PRIYA & ATLEE.”

The caption read: “Our art of love now has a name. MIYOU — beauty, gentleness & love.” The post explains the name as standing for those three qualities. The signature follows the same template the family has used for every public announcement: Meer, born in 2022, leads the list, and the parents sign off behind him.

Atlee, who built his career through the Vijay-led Mersal and Bigil before jumping to a national audience with Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan, is currently between releases. His next film, Raaka, the Allu Arjun and Deepika Padukone-led project from Sun Pictures, was unveiled in April. Priya, his co-producer at A for Apple Productions since 2017, runs much of the family’s public side and has been the steady voice through each of these family announcements.

Congratulations have been pouring in from across the industry through Sunday. The name, Atlee and Priya wrote, stands for the three things they hope their daughter will carry: beauty, gentleness, and love.
