Sivakarthikeyan's Seyon opens its second schedule in Madurai

Seyon, the film that puts Sivakarthikeyan in a Kamal Haasan production, began its second schedule in Madurai on August 11.

The first schedule wrapped earlier this year, and the new leg carries several of the film’s important sequences as the story moves into its next chapter. The announcement poster sets the register: a bearded, weathered Sivakarthikeyan against a molten sky, a divine figure ghosted into the clouds above him, which suits a film named for the god Murugan.

Sivakumar Murugesan directs, and Santhosh Narayanan, whose Mannaru with Mannar Muthu dropped just last week, composes. Kamal Haasan and R. Mahendran produce under Raaj Kamal Films International and Turmeric Media.

The Madurai setting is worth noting on its own: Murugan worship, rural Tamil Nadu and Sivakarthikeyan’s mass-hero register have converged before, but a Kamal Haasan production banner behind it raises the ambition of the bet. Kamal has been vocal about backing younger stars through RKFI, and Seyon is the banner’s most direct investment yet in the biggest crowd-puller of the post-Vijay generation.

The team has said nothing yet about a release window. What exists so far is a first schedule in the can, a Madurai leg now rolling, and a poster that treats its hero the way temple murals treat their subjects.
