Suriya's Vishwanath & Sons sets an August 14 worldwide release

Suriya’s Vishwanath & Sons has locked August 14 for a worldwide theatrical release, landing it in cinemas over the Independence Day weekend. Directed by Venky Atluri, the Telugu filmmaker behind Vaathi and Lucky Baskhar, it is pitched as a family entertainer built on warmth, humour and emotion, a register Suriya has stepped away from across Retro and Kanguva.

The first look, with Suriya beside a child, leaned on the easy charm of his earlier family roles, and the release-date poster holds that mood, placing him under an umbrella on a rain-slicked London street. Mamitha Baiju, Radhika Sarathkumar and Raveena Tandon are among the cast. GV Prakash Kumar scores the film, Nimish Ravi shoots it and Navin Nooli edits.

Suryadevara Naga Vamsi and Sai Soujanya produce under Sithara Entertainments and Fortune Four Cinemas, with Srikara Studios presenting and Nani aboard as executive producer. Think Studios takes the film out across Tamil Nadu, and the poster carries Netflix and Aditya Music as its streaming and audio partners.
