Arjun Das's John Doe sets November 13 release
Chandru is searching for a victim, a killer or a missing child. Madhumita's crime thriller asks what happens when no one wants the truth uncovered.
Arjun Das’s John Doe will release in theatres on November 13. The makers have announced the date with a new ensemble poster for Madhumita’s psychological crime thriller, which casts the actor as police officer Chandru.
The red-and-black artwork builds a collage around Arjun’s face and police cap, with photographs of other characters overlapping one another and a teddy bear looming behind them. It expands the world introduced in the earlier first look, which marked Arjun’s first police role.
The investigation turns on the identity of John Doe: a victim, a murderer, a missing child, or someone whose story has never come to light. As Chandru searches for answers, the film poses another question: what happens if no one is prepared to face the truth he uncovers? The team describes a screenplay built to keep that mystery difficult to anticipate.
Madhumita has co-written the story and screenplay with Nicholas Chevaillier. The cast includes Sanchana Natarajan, Srishti, Zaara Vineet Chandhoke and Neerav, with Shobu Yarlagadda and Prasad Devineni producing under Arka Mediaworks.
Preetha Jayaraman is the cinematographer, Mujeeb Majeed composes the music, and The Artist 404 provides additional music. Vijay Venkataramanan handles the edit, with Ashwini Kale as production designer. The November 13 announcement fixes a date for the film’s previously announced November theatrical window.
