GKM Tamil Kumaran meets S.A. Chandrasekhar
The council's monthly magazine is back after 13 years, a revival its former president welcomed during talks on member welfare and future plans.
GKM Tamil Kumaran met S.A. Chandrasekhar during a courtesy visit to seek his advice on the Tamil Film Producers Council’s development and future initiatives. The council’s current president spoke with the veteran filmmaker, a senior member and former president of the organisation, about its activities and plans for members’ welfare.
In a note about the meeting, Tamil Kumaran said Chandrasekhar had asked about the council’s current work and shared his experience from his own term in office. One subject brought particular satisfaction to the former president: the return of the council’s official monthly magazine after a 13-year gap.
The publication had appeared during Chandrasekhar’s presidency, and he was pleased to see it continue again, Tamil Kumaran said. The two posed with a copy of Namma Cinema during the visit.

Tamil Kumaran, who was elected council president earlier this year, said he valued the experience that former office-bearers could share with the new leadership.
“Advice from former presidents like him will help new leaders like me run the administration and encourage us to bring more new initiatives to the film industry,” he said.
