Pandiraj's Parimala and Co title teaser is out, Jayaram and Urvashi reunite

Pandiraj has dropped the title teaser for his next, Parimala and Co. The reveal headlines Jayaram and Urvashi as the central pair, the duo who carried a stretch of Malayalam comedies in the late nineties and early two-thousands and whose pairing has been thinly used since. Pandiraj is putting them back at the centre of a Tamil ensemble.

The ensemble around them is large. The makers’ announcement names Santosh Sobhan, Sandy, Yogi Babu, Ananthika Sanil Kumar, Sanjana Sandilyan, S.K. Gaayathri, Pradeep E. Ragav, Naveen, Karthik Raja, Sendrayan, Singampuli, Poornima Ravi, and the actor-director Mysskin among the cast. The poster mirrors that scale, an illustrated tableau packed with characters around an old yellow Ambassador, in the storybook visual register Pandiraj has used since Thalaivan Thalaivii.

Production is a three-banner deal. Lyca Productions, headed by Subaskaran, is the lead producer. Tamil Kumaran Productions, run by G.K.M. Tamil Kumaran, is co-producing. Pasanga Productions, Pandiraj’s own outfit, completes the trio. George C Williams handles the camera. The full technical line-up will be unveiled in the coming announcements.

The plot has not been revealed; the makers are positioning today’s drop strictly as a title and tone reveal, with the teaser doing the heavy lifting on character introductions.
