Vadhandhi Season 2 Sets August 7, Sasikumar Leads the Hunt
Prime Video has dated Vadhandhi Season Two, The Mystery of Mani, for 7 August, with Sasikumar as a cop whose case starts with bones under a highway project.
Vadhandhi is back on 7 August. Prime Video has dated the second season of its Tamil suspense series, subtitled The Mystery of Mani, with Andrew Louis returning to create, write and direct all eight episodes.
Sasikumar heads the new season as SI Moosa Raza, a policeman with no interest in the convenient version of events. The case begins when skeletal remains surface during the inauguration of a highway project, and the deeper he digs the more it pulls him into local politics, a media circus and an elusive prisoner named Mani. Yashwanth, Anagha Maruthora, Aparna Das, Vivek Prasanna, Revathy Sharma and Arjun Nandhakumar fill out the cast.
Where the first season built its story around Velonie and the gossip that trailed her, this one moves to Madurai and runs its investigation alongside jallikattu, which gives the season both its setting and its charge. The franchise idea stays put: what people say happened, and what actually did, are rarely the same thing.
Wallwatcher Films produces, with Pushkar and Gayatri on as creative producers, the same pairing behind Suzhal. They say Andrew Louis has taken the season somewhere new without loosening its grip on the franchise’s central tension, and single out the cast for the depth they bring to it.
For Sasikumar it continues a stretch that has kept him in front of audiences all year, from Tourist Family to My Lord, and hands him a uniform to carry a whole season.
Vadhandhi Season Two, The Mystery of Mani streams from 7 August in Tamil, with Telugu and Hindi dubs and subtitles in fifteen languages, across India and more than 240 countries.
